A few bits of popcorn flew through the air and onto the stage. Their origin, a round, green sofa located near the front of the stage. The thrower; a tall muscular man with light skin, his long black hair is pulled into a ponytail. He was dressed in all black, his legs propped up on a round table in front of the sofa. In one hand he clutched a red and white vertical striped bag filled with more popcorn, which he was grabbing and either tossing or eating with a hand marked by a red tattoo.

"BOO!"

The guy yelled out at the random group of drunken strangers who's stumbled up onto the stage, and his violet eyes held a look of irritated boredom. A heavy exhale left his mouth afterwards and he grumbled to himself "God don't we have anyone with talent tonight? This sucks."

Lan Fan took a seat on the couch with her own ~~massive~~ bag of popcorn and looked over at him with that grumble. "Can you do any better?" she asked flatly.

The silence always impressed him. Even if he never bothered to mention that. Instead he just presented his usual shark like grin and nodded affirmatively.

"Of course I can. But it's more fun to watch other people right now." And then his gaze shifted in Lan Fan's direction. "How about you? Wanna give the stage a go? Sing a love ballad about your crush or something?"

She wouldn't be deserving of her title if she couldn't move with stealth. At his question she instantly flushed before scowling to mask her embarrassment. "Not at all, don't be ridiculous."

"Aw I bet you're probably a secret song-bird." He couldn't (read: didn't bother to) suppress a mischievous little chuckle at his own teasing. "But if you really can't take the heat I guess you can just sit here in the peanut gallery with me."

As he spoke the last group managed to find their way sloppily off the stage. Despite his heckling they seemed too drunk to be offended.

"It makes no sense to draw that much attention to myself," she said flatly, trying to use her training and duty as the reason rather than being shy. And with that she stuffed an entire handful of popcorn into her mouth.

Because. She was the most ladylike.

With an exaggerated eye roll and a comment of "Oh of course of course." Greed tilted his own bag forward a little and just let the food fall into his mouth.

"Because" He said after washing the food down with a nearby bottle of beer "There are so many people here who would recognize you."

"It isn't a matter of being recognized, it's being noticed at all!" Half of that was said through a half chewed mouth of popcorn, still scowling while her cheeks maintained their pink hue.

"You already blew that excuse when you decided to sit out here in the open with me woman." Shaking his head "Alright pick a song ninja-girl. And it better not be anything in Xingese either!" He sat up straight then, removing his feet from the table and planting them decisively on the carpeted floor.

"I am not getting up there!" she practically barked, almost dropping her popcorn as she sat up straighter herself.

"Oh will you just pick a song already." Clearly he was not taking no for an answer. "Come on you're not getting out of this unless you pull that disappearing act on me and I really don't think you're going to do that."

"No." She may or may not have had a bit of panic starting to show with her embarrassment.

"You keep acting that way and I might have to do something reckless." He sighed "You know like bringing the microphone down here here to you" His smile broadened, showing off his shark-like teeth.

And then she was ruffling a bit, "And do you honestly believe I will remain sitting here if you do such a thing?"

He considered. "Hm...maybe." Looking away from her, one hand placed on his chin in thought Greed blithely reached over with his other hand and snatched the girl up, standing as he did and taking a few quick strides to the stage. "Okay. Put something random on the prompt since the Lady won't pick a song!" He barked at the guys working in a little room off to the side where the karaoke equipment was housed.

Lan Fan barked out as he grabbed for her, throwing first a handful of popcorn and then the entire bag at him before she found herself being hauled up like a sack of rice. "Greed! Stop it, what are you doing!?!?" she raved, kicking violently while trying to twist in a way to both get free and not damage him at the same time (even if he did have that damn shield).

Apparently ignoring her complaints (and thrown food items), Greed adjusted the girl so that he could plant her on the stage in front of the microphone. Then he calmly pointed to a screen hanging over and facing in the direction of the stage. "Now that is where the lyrics appear. When you see them, you sing them to the melody provided by the speakers. Got it?" He grinned then and from somewhere inside his coat the man retrieved a second microphone. "I'll even start you off so you don't have to do the whole thing"

And with a snap of his fingers music began to play as the screen lit up with scrolling words, which were then belted out by a surprisingly pleasant sounding male voice.

"Don't go changing to try and please me
You never let me down before
Don't imagine you're too familiar
And I don't see you anymore

I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times; I'll take the bad times
I'll take you just the way you are"

By the time Greed got her up to the stage she was flushing all the way up to her hairline and well down past her collar, even her ears were red. She hissed at him, half watching the room in the process, "What makes you think I am actually going to do this!?" And, rather than making a break for it off the stage she wound up standing as close to him as possible, as if trying to camouflage herself by blending in with both of their dark clothing.

While he still hadn't gotten the woman to sing, Greed had to admit he was having a good time. And the patrons that were still conscious were watching him which of course made him feel good. But regardless he couldn't let her off the hook so easily, so since she so generously decided to scoot close to him Greed placed one hand on her opposite shoulder and leaned over so she could almost feel his breath when he spoke. "You're going to make me sing this whole song by myself? You're more stubborn than I thought".

"Don't go trying some new fashion
Don't change the color of your hair
You always have my unspoken passion
Although I might not seem to care"

Patience sighed, scanning the bar. She wasn't even sure what she was doing in a place like this.

"I suppose it doesn't hurt to check around everywhere..." She mumbled to no one.

She was completely alone, little chastity at home learning some responsibility after bringing home a box of puppies instead of groceries. She would have to find someone to take those eventually...

But for right now perhaps she could just hide in a back corner here and relax... she had just enough money to get herself something so she wouldn't have to worry about being kicked out for not buying anything.

Quite the opposite of him, Lan Fan could feel the eyes on them and she wanted to sink into the floor all the more. "I never agreed to do this in the first place, idiot," she growled, hugging herself and leaning into him further even while her face lit up more.

The physical contact was (unsurprisingly) welcome, and he apparently had a talent for talking in between verses. "Shouldn't you reach out and experience new things or something?" This was definitely getting more interesting. But he couldn't resist taking another jab "Or you know you could just keep leaning against me. That's okay too." Then he cleared his throat rather loudly and;

"I need to know that you will always be
The same old someone that I knew
What will it take till you believe in me
The way that I believe in you?"

"Oh man those guys are awful"

The comment came from a table not too far away. Leaning back in the chair was a young man with light skin and gold eyes. His hair too was gold and pulled back in a ponytail which hung down to his upper back. He was wearing workable trousers, a white button up shirt that had been left un-tucked and a brown duster coat. He looked like if he wasn't careful that chair would eventually fall backward and dump him on his ass.

Now the big question was whether or not he could keep his singing voice even when she offered a hard jab to his stomach with her elbow. He was lucky it was the one made of flesh and bone.

But fine.

If he was listening past his own voice though, he might have picked up on her mumbling the last few lines of the song... despite the fact that her only exposure to it were what he had already sung.

Greed felt her elbow pressing into his stomach as though they were in slow motion. He knew (and somewhat hated) what had to happen then, but there was no avoiding it and he took the hit rather than shield up and risk injuring the woman. As a result his voice faultered a bit on the last few lines, causing some of the more alert patrons a round of chuckles which he ignored. Instead he fell silent which proved to be worth the pain, even if the lines were only mumbled.

"I said I love you and that's forever
And this I promise from the heart
I could not love you any better
I love you just the way you are"
