A look of surprise crossed the mans face as the chair teetered dangerously, but luck was with him for the moment and he tilted forward, planting both feet on the carpeted floor and bringing one arm around to rest on the table. He moved his line of sight then from the two people on stage to the young woman next to him.

"Well it's not like they're bad singers. But that guy is a real bully. I'm surprised Lan Fan takes that from him, considering the way she felt about him before." His expression changed to a nostalgic smile as he looked back over at them again. The man was tilted over slightly, apparently the young woman had given him a stern elbow jab. "So what about you then?" He asked casually. "You going to get up there after they're finished?"

A slight smile crossed her face at the near mishap. It was probably wrong to find it amusing, but she couldn't help herself.

"Ah I see. I wouldn't know." She took a sip of her drink again to give herself time to think perhaps. "My little sister and I are new to the area." She glanced to the people on the stage. She was actually pretty sure she recognized the man, a small frown appeared for a moment before it vanished back to a calm facade, but she definitely didn't know the young woman.

"No I don't believe I will be." She shook her head slowly. She wouldn't know anything, perhaps if she spent a few days in surveillance to figure things out and see if she even could... "I'll leave that to those who seem to know what they're doing." There was a small amused smile on her face at the almost joke. However it was true that they all probably knew more than her.

With a shrug of his shoulders Edward smiled. "What's there to know? The words to the song appear on the screen up there" He pointed lazily "And then the melody plays and you sing along. Of course, most people only to it when they've had a lot of alcohol. You know; liquid courage." He chuckles dryly, but then the man calls out in an entirely different voice and Edward can't help but frown. "That's pretty low Greed" He mumbled, not wanting to admit that the look on Lan Fan's face was actually pretty amusing.

Then as if remembering for the first time he turned to the young woman once again. "I'm Edward, Edward Elric. What's your name?"

"I would think it's best to know something of songs before you try to sing one." There was an odd faintly sad smile on her face, she shook her head clearing it. "I tend not to rush into anything or indulge much in 'liquid courage'." There's a faint smile on her face at the term.

She raises an eyebrow at his reaction to the change in tone and his comment, but it's probably better not to ask. That mumbled name however definitely rings a few bells, she frowned. Probably best to keep her distance from Greed.

The smile reappears on her face at the introduction although she can't help her nerves. She's read that name before. "It's a pleasure to meet you Mister Elric. You can call me Patience."

"Patience huh? That's a nice name." He comments with an approving nod as he watched Lan Fan plant Greed into a table. He can't resist chuckling at the scene. "Serves him right, pulling something likethat" And he almost gets up, preparing to go and fix the now broken table. He stops however as if remembering something important and sits back down. The table he's at is pretty much bare except for a small loaf of bread and a glass of water. He didn't say anything but the observant person could see that he wasn't a drinker either.

"Patience is something I've never been that great at myself. My Brother though, he's got Patience by the bucketload!" He chuckled and took a chunk out of his bread before rocking back on the chair again, as though he had grown into the habit and hadn't yet learned how to break out of it.

"Ah, thank you." She smiles, faintly relieved. "I take it that you are... an friend of theirs? They seem like a lively bunch." She can't help but look around, it's nice to see that she's not the only one who isn't downing any alcohol right now. Perhaps it isn't as odd as she feared it would be.

"I'm not surprised. I haven't seen much of you but you just don't seem the type, just the way you sit would say that much to me." She took a sip of her drink. "Your brother is lucky. It's not a bad trait to have. It means you know how to wait for the right moment."

Although before you could wait for the right moment to find your opportunity first you had to know what opportunity you were seeking. That was where the trouble was lately.

"Yeah I suppose it's not." He gave another small nod, and without looking over again idly folded his hands behind his head. "By the way. That's an interesting mark you've got there. Mind telling me about it?" His gaze turned serious then. She hadn't done anything to indicate she was a threat but even if she had, he couldn't fight more of them on his own.

Well it had come although it had taken longer than she had thought it might. She took a sip for her glass keeping her voice calm her smile fading.

"It's just a birthmark. Nothing unusual about that is there?" A single eyebrow arched upwards with her query.

It was a shame it was so visible. No chance of blending in which was all she really wanted at this point.

Of course he wasn't convinced. With the amount of time he'd spent just with Greed/Ling he knew an Oroborus when he saw one. Edward crossed his arms over his chest and sighed. "You know, if you told that to anyone else they'd probably believe you. But I think we both know you've got the same mark as that guy in the front" He gestured to the couch where Greed and Lan Fan were sitting.

"What I don't get is; where were you? If you're here to carry out that Bearded Bastards plans, you're kinda late to the party aren't you?" Even as he was conversing calmly the young man's mind was racing, trying to map out some kind of strategy should this polite conversation take an aggressive turn.

"Yes, yes I know." She sighed. It had at least been worth a try. "And as far as the 'Bearded Bastard' as you call him... We never met." She shook her head. "My creators were loath to let anyone leave the complex. After all they hadn't exactly been permitted to do what they did."

Patience kept herself calm and didn't move. It was best not to do anything that he might take as provocation. She did not want to fight him, but if she needed to she would. Chastity needed someone to look after her after all.

"Must be pretty good for you then. Having things change like this". He smiled and seemed to relax in his chair. She didn't look like she wanted a fight and for now that was good enough for him. "Just don't follow in Greeds stupid footsteps and try to take over the world or something." He paused then as he contemplated her name and it's likely meaning.

"How many more of you guys are there anyway? If there are a lot, I think I'm going to have to meet you all just to be on the safe side."

She shrugged. "I suppose although I have my own concerns." She relaxed slightly as he seemed to settle. She really didn't want to hurt anyone. "I have my little sister to look after and she..." She shook her head putting a hand to it with a slight smile. "Can be a bit of a handful sometimes."

She stood for a moment, stretching to relieve some of the tension from before. "You really don't have to worry about that. I certainly wouldn't want to follow in his footsteps from what I know... What I have is nearly enough... although not entirely what I need." She sighed, "Then again I suppose it's that way for everyone."

She sat back down crossing her legs and leaning back slightly in her seat. In general adopting a less guarded and nervous position than when she had first arrived. Not to say she wasn't alert just in case something should arise.

"As of right now." There was a moderate pause as she got lost in thought for a moment. "I believe there are only four of us. Five at most if she's still alive. There were - are - two more in development, but if they haven't been born yet I may have put a substantial delay on it."

He considered what he knew. Which seemed to be just a bit more than her at the moment. "If they're involved with the military, and it definitely sounds like they are; you can consider that program canceled. Amestriss isn't in the Homunculus business anymore. Or the chimera business either for that matter. So if you really don't want to do anything to this country or it's people then you can just consider yourselves citizens like everyone else."

"I see." It wouldn't guarantee anything. If they really wanted to continue they would find a way, but at least it meant that they wouldn't have the full support of the government behind them which was a relief.

"The only thing I want to do is live in peace. I'm a mediator, not a fighter unless I must to defend myself." She smiled faintly. "Which makes sense given that Wrath was my opposite." She sipped her drink.
